Ravenswood assisted the ARNG with not only establishing the eXportable Combat Training Capability (XCTC) Program during its inception in 2008, but have continued to partner with the ARNG and assist with facilitating and adapting large-scale exercises through 2024.
Ravenswood executed XCTC as a Prime during the early years, then as a subcontractor to Raytheon under the now-expired Warfighter Focus contract from 9/29/2017–1/28/2021. We performed over 95% of the workshare on this contract, including planning, preparation, execution, recovery, and maintenance of six Brigade-sized rotations in the TY18 training year. During 2018, we provided low-risk, turn-key training support for six different Brigades, of which four rotations were conducted simultaneously, at seven different locations. For more than 15 years, Ravenswood facilitated XCTC Training rotations and provided our rotational support teams with unparalleled knowledge of the training areas, including radio profiles, roads, routes, available facilities, local vendors, installation requirements, local labor pools, etc. That knowledge and experience is always applied to rotation planning and execution, for the benefit of the Commanders and their units.
Since 2022, Ravenswood has been providing ORION Maintenance and Technical Support Services through the most recent Prime contract holder Valiant to keep the ORION software that powers the FlexTrain system running at peak performance for the ARNG training audience,
The ARNG-TR needed to acquire two (2) FlexTrain (TESS) brigade sets and ORION Software Licenses to enhance their instrumented FoF training capabilities under the XCTC program. FlexTrain, a Department of Army-approved TESS Training Aids, Devices, Simulators, and Simulations (TADSS) for the ARNG, was designed to seamlessly interface with the existing Government-owned TESS product line and ensure full interconnectivity between all hardware and software components, including Government-owned equipment.
Ravenswood successfully met the objective by delivering a fully integrated and deployable training system that exceeded the Government's expectations. Our performance not only met but also enhanced the ARNG’s training capabilities, ensuring their readiness and operational effectiveness.
"Their efforts in producing, testing, and integrating over 10,500 pieces of equipment within an efficient delivery schedule ensured timely production, effective inspection and acceptance of equipment, and seamless integration into existing Government furnished property." - CPARS
The Army National Guard Training Division (ARNG-TR) required the manufacturing and integration of instrumentation into their existing un-instrumented TESS to support Force-on-Force (FoF) training exercises. This contract involved producing and integrating dismounted and V-TESS to ensure compatibility with legacy TESS systems that ARNG used during annual training events. Ravenswood was tasked with delivering new XCTC TESS capabilities while seamlessly integrating these with GFE TESS.
The contract was completed without any system degradation, and the equipment consistently maintained an Operational Readiness rate that exceeded 95% throughout the post-delivery service contract. Ravenswood also received specific recognition for the production team's rapid delivery, shortening the delivery schedule from 10 months to seven months without compromising quality or increasing costs.
"The contractor had everything laid out perfectly for Government acceptance and function check. Paperwork was pre-filled to expedite handling, which made acceptance very easy." - CPARS
