US Army PEO STRI

The U.S. Army is transitioning to Multi-Domain Operations (MDO) capability by 2028 and MDO readiness by 2035. The Synthetic Training Environment Live Training System (STE-LTS), part of the broader STE program, represents Increment 2 of this initiative. The Army's Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training, and Instrumentation (PEO STRI) Agile Acquisition Response (STAAR) Team leads the STE-LTS prototyping efforts under this Other Transactional Authority (OTA) contract. The goal is to enhance the Ground Combat Vehicle (GCV) Direct Fire TESS for LTS by reducing reliance on lasers and existing instrumentation, while increasing the realism of FoF training. 

Project Goals To-Date:

• Accuracy of our geo-compass approach to tracking position and orientation of the vehicle.
• Read and interpret vehicle data from the BFV onboard MIL-STD-1553 serial data bus.
• Live tracking of the GCV TES in ORION.
• Live shot pairing between a GCV TES and instrumented targets.
• Integration of a GPS-denied tracking capability based on the same technology as NORA
• Integration of augmented reality feedback for the crew to visualize shots fired and effects of shots fired.
