Through the Tactical Engagement System In Kenya (TESIK) program with the British Army, Ravenswood and its partners are pushing the boundaries of live-fire training by instrumenting tactical ranges with advanced feedback systems. This system tracks not only whether and when targets are neutralized but also evaluates the effectiveness of suppressive fire and the use of dead ground during maneuvering. This comprehensive approach provides real-time feedback that enhances a soldier’s tactical awareness, target engagement, and overall battlefield effectiveness.
Ravenswood is currently under contract with the UK Ministry of Defense (MOD) to product, test, deploy, operate, and maintain a tactical engagement simulation (TES) capability, provided as a managed service, for Light Role Battlegroup Collective Training Earning Events (CTEE) for the British Army Training Unit Kenya (BATUK). Our tasks are to coordinate and manage all TES personnel, equipment, maintenance, and logistics; instrument all participants in the training area; provide real-time situational awareness, and post event data for After-Action Review (AAR) evaluations.
To meet the objectives, we manufactured and fielded a UK Battlegroup TES system consisting of new TES components that interoperate with Government-owned capabilities Direct Fire Weapons Effect Simulator (DFWES), Area Weapons Effect Simulator (AWES), Interim Indirect Fire Simulation (IIDFS), and SCOPIC2. Additionally, we provide TES enablers such as: instrumented medical kits, emulated electronic countermeasures, IEDs, and TES-enabled CBRNE equipment.
Throughout the contract, we have consistently ensured full regulatory compliance across all relevant jurisdictions—specifically within the United States, United Kingdom, and Kenya.
